In our highway fuel-economy test, the V-8–powered Durango R/T surprised us by outperforming its EPA rating (and even its own V-6–powered variant) as well as the lighter and more modern GMC Acadia V-6. With numbers like that one, you’re looking at towing a few water ski boats, lightweight towable camping trailers, or ATVs for four. That’s not just one of the best in Durango’s class, that’s class-leading. That much-towing capability puts the Durango right up there with compact pickup trucks, like the Chevy Colorado.
